Galena Mountain Guides (GMG)/Pierre Hungr operates trips in Wilderness and Alpine terrain. There are many risks, dangers and hazards inherent to this environment, some of which include: avalanches, cornices, crevasses, seracs, trees and treewells, creeks, cliffs, rockfall, variable and difficult travel conditions, illness, equipment failure, wild animals, getting lost, difficulty in or lack of communication and/or rescue, unpredictable weather and mistakes made by guides. Other risks include contraction of infectious diseases such as Covid-19.
Galena Mountain Guides/Pierre Hungr requires that all guests read, understand and agree to an ACMG Release of Liability Waiver prior to paying for their trip. Please carefully read this document and seek legal advice if you are unsure of its terms or their meaning. A paper copy of this waiver will be provided by GMG/Pierre Hungr at the start of your trip and you will be required to sign it to proceed with the trip.
To make a booking, please fill out the Contact Form above and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Once the trip details have been confirmed, you will be sent a Booking Form to fill out. The Booking Form lists trip pricing, payment options and insurance recommendations. A 25%, non-refundable, deposit is due with the Booking Form to reserve your spot. The non-refundable balance payment is due 60 days prior to the start of your trip. If the final balance payment for your booking is not received 60 days prior to the start of your trip, your spot will be cancelled and deposit forfeited to Galena Mountain Guides/Pierre Hungr.
All payments made to Galena Mountain Guides/Pierre Hungr are non-refundable. A 25%, non-refundable, deposit is due with the Booking Form to reserve your spot. The non-refundable balance payment is due 60 days prior to the start of your trip.
We recommend that you purchase cancellation insurance, see below for details. If you can find someone to fill your spot, the above cancellation penalties will not apply and the booking will proceed under the new person's name provided they promptly read a waiver, agree to these terms and fill in a Booking Form. If you choose to leave partway through a trip, you will receive no refund and will be responsible for all additional related expenses, including helicopter transportation.
Your inability to complete your booking due to reasons outside of your control, including without limitation travel issues, closed borders, and local viral outbreaks, is at your sole risk, and such inability to complete will be deemed a cancellation of your booking and our standard cancellation policy will apply.
When we confirm your booking we are guaranteeing that the trip will depart. If we cancel a trip for any reason except a force majeure (including a pandemic) prior to the start date, a refund will be provided. If we are forced to cancel a trip partway in which all participants are still willing and able to continue, a refund for the unused portion of the trip will be provided.
After we confirm your trip, Galena Mountain Guides/Pierre Hungr cannot refund payment or release you from your contractual obligation except in the conditions stated in our cancellation policy above. Cancellation insurance is strongly recommended in the event that you cannot participate or if your trip is interrupted for any reason. This type of insurance is available from most insurance companies and credit cards. We recommend TuGo, the Simpson Group or Lifestyle.
All participants are recommended to have personal, internationally accepted medical insurance for all activities pertaining to your trip, including emergency rescue and evacuation. Please note that European rescue agencies will charge you directly for all rescue/evacuation services, as will BC rescue agencies unless you are a citizen of BC or in a National Park. We recommend an annual membership in an alpine club which includes global rescue coverage, such as: the American Alpine Club, the Federation Francaise des Clubs Alpins et de Montagne, the Austrian Alpine Club, etc. Global Rescue, TuGo or Lifestyle also offer Medical/Rescue insurance.
Please complete this ACMG Waiver before paying for your trip.
